Hurricane Ida hits New Orleans, Louisiana, on August 29, 2021; exactly 16 years after Hurricane Katrina! Making landfall as a Category 4, Ida goes down as one of the strongest hurricanes to hit Louisiana.

In this video, experience what it was like on the ground during the day of landfall. A relatively calm morning with a light breeze evolved into an evening of winds over 100MPH! Streets became empty as the storm blew trees over and damaged buildings. As night fell, power outages spread throughout the region. The highest wind gust in New Orleans was recorded at 110MPH for this peak-season hurricane!
